Level design for Call of Duty, Quake, and Doom.

When I started

It all began with Quake III Arena, its beauty and playability was second to none at the time.  I always played it at a friend's house and that was where I got the bright idea to build my own computer.  It was here I found my one of my new hobbies, building and fixing computers.  At age 13 there wasn't much money to be used and had to skip on most power but I was able to get by with a 500mhz Celeron. 64mb SDRAM, and a Voodoo 3, yes that was a VooDoo 3 that is now non-existant.  One day with boredom taking over I decided to try to download the editor and see what mess I can make.  It was pretty bad but then again most first maps aren't spectatular.  I was pretty proud of myself as I only found one tutorial on how t set it up and learned the rest myself but I put it away for awhile.  It wasn't until Call of Duty that I wanted to make maps again and I hit it big!  I became almost obsessed, I worked on my maps nearly every day.  I always say things on how "this" would be better with that or "that" would be better with this but now I could add "this" or "that" if I wanted too.  With nine maps completly finished I decided to go for a career in the field.  I then moved to Call of Duty United Offensive that introduced more gametypes, weapons, and vehicles.  After a year or so Call of Duty 2 was released and I joined a mod team, Unbound Forces, and have been with them since.  Although progress is slow I have completed two maps and am Lead Level Design.  I work with the coder to impliment mapping aspects of gametypes.

Education

I am currently enrolled at Ohio State University pursuing an degree in Visual Communications.  I am just finishing my 2nd quarter here after two years at Lakeland Community College and currently have over 100 credit hours completed.  After completing the general education courses at Lakeland I transferred to continue with core classes in Visual Communications.  I was also allowed to take courses in the graduate program for animation.  The class I am currently in is low poly modeling in Maya 2008 and I plan on continuing when my undergraduate studies allow.
